Happy Halloween!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!

Wow that was a great holiday season! Some major stresses and some even better creations!

I have to say with every season/year things change and lessons are learned. Last year Trick or Treat baskets were the BIG seller, this year I think I only made 4 and 2 were for my kids! On the flip side I think I made 4 or 5 costumes last year and over 13 this year, with multiple pieces on some!

All of the customes this year were classics! I'm VERY grateful that I wasn't stuck making a bunch of Anna and Elsa's!! And with every sneak peek I post on IG and FB I added a quote from the movie or book so everyone could guess. Most since they're childhood classics were easy but it was still fun!

So without further ado, here's the Halloween wrap up of everything that was created for this season!

"They're the modern stone age family.
From the town of Bedrock,
They're a page right out of history"
Pebbles and Bam Bam for two cute cousins! Complete with bone strap and bone headband!

“In an old house in Paris that was covered with vines
Lived twelve little girls in two straight lines
In two straight lines they broke their bread
And brushed their teeth and went to bed.
They left the house at half past nine
In two straight lines in rain or shine-
The smallest one was Madeline.” Ludwig Bemelmans
Madeline! I love these books and it's such a cute classic costume! Mom even got the yellow hat to top it off!

"So come with me, where dreams are born, and time is never planned. Just think of happy things, and your heart will fly on wings"
Peter Pan is such a simple but fun one! I love this movie and I know this little guys is going to rock it!

No Peter Pan is complete without his hat with a red feather!

" You poor simple fools. You think you can defeat me? Me, the mistress of all evil??"
I think this one is one of my favorite! I mean it's so unique and awesome!!!

"She did not know that the wolf was a wicked sort of animal, and she was not afraid of him ."
Little Red Ridding Hood, another favorite. I love how all these patterns came together!

They're the world's most fearsom fighting team!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ... every boys fav this year! This Shell pattern was all my own creative ingenuity!  Very proud of the they was they came out! I made 4 boys and a girl turtle.

This guy wanted to be a Decorater/Painter so he needed all white overalls!

"There are those who say fate is something beyond our command. That destiny is not our own, but I know better. Our fate lives within us, you only have to be brave enough to see it."

One of my favorite Disney Princesses! A simple dress she can use ater for dress up but still with all the details! See her with the matching bow and arrow was awesome!

"If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary-wise; what it is it wouldn't be, and what it wouldn't be, it would. You see"

Aice will ALWAYS be a favorite for me! And I identify with her so much!

The only costumes missing were my boys, but I have those in the wash to get ready for our traditional Halloween photo shoot coming up this week, so check back later for that!!

I have to say all of this would not be possible without all my amazing fans and their great imaginations! Or the hard work my hubs put in to help with the kids and house so I could bring all these characters to life!

Thank you everyone for another great Halloween Season! I wonder what we'll make next year??

Neckalce Accessories were of course done by my fab friend at KAdorable Bowtique!

Upgrades! New Photo Studio!

New things come in and out of the studio all time. We all know that I'm a fabric hoarder and have a new shipment of fabric arrive at least once a week. But this time, these new pretties are here to stay!

Since I moved into a new studio (I switch rooms with my little's playroom, and we both got more room out of it!) I've slowly been adding needed things and spaces. Like a great place to take pictures, where I don't have to take it down when I'm finished!

There's a HUGE closet in my studio, and it doesn't work well as a true closet since it's so deep. Things would just get piled up and lost. First it was home to Fred. I wonderful 6 needle embroidery machine belonging to my loverly business friend Shauna at KAdorable Bowtique. But now that the military is taking her away, I've re-done the space to have be a permanent photo studio!

Here's the before ...

First thing to go were the doors, totally unneeded and blocked off the space!

The old set up was a simple curtain rod with a burlap backdrop hanging and my DIY floor drop. Very simple and functional. But I would have to move things around to use it since I also used that wall space for the ironing board. It got old very quickly!

Using the same curtain rod and floor drop I turning that huge close into a great space! That wasn't the end of the renovation though. I took advantage of a great sale for back drops at Lemon Drop Stop. I've been oogling at these backdrop for YEARS! I never thought they would make a huge different but they SO did!

I purchased an everyday, Halloween, and Christmas backdrop ....

I'm hoping that I can take advantage of a Christmas sale to get some of the spring holiday back drops!

Next was the mannequin. My little half body hanging ones are great, but since they're only half of a body the clothes still hang on them in a weird way or I have to pinch the back to make the look right. But on a full mannequin they hang perfectly!

And when edited and cropped the clothes are the only thing that stands out!

The last thing to figure out is lighting. Right now there's great natural light. But as the sun sets or the storm clouds come in it gets a little "yellow". Definitely my next purchase is lighting and soft box. The question is ... camera flash and soft box or stand alone???

It's a Party ... A Naming Party!!

I was so excited with the sell of my dress in the BBBB auction, and the great success it had during my own pre-order sale that I had to have another "party" for it. A naming party! Because a dress this cute need a matching name to go with it!

I put it out there to my Facebook fans and got some fun names!

All About the Boo!
Girly Ghouls
Put a Spell on You
Witchery Stitchery Boo
Cast a Spell
Hocus Pocus
Bibbity Bobbity Boo
Peppermint Ghoulash
and
Bewtiched

Great names! Bewitched, Hocus Pocus and Put a Spell on You were my top three!

But the winner was .... drum roll please .... HOCUS POCUS!

And to celebrate we popped the dress on one of my favroite little models and had a mini photo shoot! With made to match accessories by KAdorable Bowtique.

I love her!

First of it's Kind ... New Design + New Venue = AWESOMENESS!

Tiny Hiney has grown so much over the years and it always amazes me when we reach another milestone!

Sewing boutique clothes is a hard nitch to get into. There's some really great big names to go up against! And sometimes I feel like I'm over looked since my prices are more reasonable than most. BUT no matter what when I spot opens in one of those groups you jump, and you jump fast! And that's just what I did.

A great friend and customer told me about an auction that Bitty Bitty Bum Bum's Beyond Customes and Resell Page was having to benifit one of the creators behind BBBB. It would be GREAT exposure, so I busted out a new design with special Halloween fabric to put up for auction.

Here is the end result ...

For SOOOO many reasons I am in love with this creation! Many techniques that I had never used before, absolutely gorgeous fabric, and a great pattern!

I love the detail of the bib and pumpkin buttons, just ties everything together!

This was my first dress using trim to accent. And this black lace just complements everything perfectly!

But no outfit that comes out of the Tiny Hiney studio is complete without made to match accessories by KAdorable Bowtique! She knock it out of the park with this simple yet stunning necklace.

So this little pretty went off into an auction up against some really big names! And I'm very happy to announce that it did incredibly well and sold for over $100!!!! I had a bidding war on my first boutique auction piece (insert happy dance here!) !!!!!

A week or so later, I released this piece on Tiny Hiney as my first "load/pre-order" and again it did very well for my first one! (Insert another happy dance!!)

I'm definitely going to continue to offer special dresses and outfits like this through special Loads and Pre-Orders. Look out for Fall/Thanksgiving and Christmas ones soon!

Nautical Photo Shoot

A couple weeks ago I was able to have another wonderful photo shoot with the talented Nikole Vargas Photography for the Nautical Collection. And it was a BLAST!

We were able to get some stunning shots, and some great action shots too!

So excited to show off this collection and get it up for the load!

There is one thing that we learned during this shoot though ... if you take kids to a beach, they WILL get wet! This happened maybe after 10-15 min!

Visit us on Facebook to see more amazing designs, and check out the Etsy Store for "Ready to Ship" items and for when this collection loads!
