Happy Birthday USA and my littlest!

Happy 4th of July! I love this holiday ... lots of time outside, cookouts, great friends and family! Plus everyone comes together, shows off their patriotism and celebrates America's birthday!

Once again it was a made dash to finish all the holiday orders. But I LOVE everything that was created, and even better seeing everyone in those cute creations!

So bring on all the Red, White, and Blue!

Can't forget our friends to the North ... Happy Canada Day!

Now while summer is usually a break from holidays I have not one but two birthdays in the summer one month apart! Always a joy but also a stress!

Here's some cute pictures my like youngest 2nd Sail-ebration!

K's Sailor Jon Jon (which I also made reversible!)

Big Brother got a matching shirt!

I'm no famous baker, but I know he was happy to smash it!

Thank you Pinterest for all the food ideas!

And lastly, a little shop announcement ... I'm taking a mini vacation. Not really going anywhere, or doing anything, just need a little time to breath! Soon it'll be back to school, Halloween and the Thanksgiving rush. Right now I want to be able to enjoy the summer with my littles and be able to clear my head. It'll mean I can come back with better ideas and styles!

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to send me a message. I'll still be here sewing, updating, and such. Just not taking on a full work load.

More DIY & Re-arranging!

It's been quiet around here ... and that usually means I'm buried DEEP in projects! And it's true! Lots of custom creations and new upgrades for the studio.

Here's some of the newly created things ...

 Lots of Birthdays!!

Some great inspired outfits!

Dresses for all occasions!

Everyday outfits and shirts.

When in Hawaii, make Hawaiian dresses!
It's definitely been homecoming season around here!

I love all the different styles and colors!

Now onto the new additions to the studio! I've been wanting to expand into the closet so I could have a "working" desk and a "sewing"desk next to each other. I needed one for SO many reason (the #1 reason was so I could stop running up and down the stairs every time I need a new design on my machine or a pattern printed or email answered ... ugh! SO tiring!) So the hubs, Pinterest, and I came up with a great and simple solution!

We already had the "desk top" and supports using left over wood from the shelf we made, always nice when you can do a project for free because you had left overs! And I got a free 2 drawer filing cabinet for another support. I'm planing on using the filing cabinet for my scrap booking stuff like sticker, cut outs, ext.

Before ... a now empty closet without doors.

What my room looks like when I empty my craft closet!

Hubs doing the heavy lifting!

All done and LOVING it!! I think for a make-shift desk it came out REALLY nice! And it's so much nicer just having to turn 90 degrees when I need to do something rather than 2 flights of stairs!

While we (really just me haha!) were moving everything, I decided to make a better photog area too!

Works great and gets the most sunlight!

Also found an amazing ironing station! Two extenders pop up on each side, one to hold the iron and one to expand the ironing surface. Plus it's got storage and wheels!

And for the pièce de ré·sis·tance of my studio ... my new cut table! I found this "beauty" on the curb side out for the trash man or an awesome person like me to breath new life into it!

And breath I did! It took over 2 hours of sanding to get it down to bare wood. And I honestly should have sanded for another hour in some spots, but wanting to finish during the weekend and the shaking feeling was killing me!

Here's a look at the 3 stages the top wen through ...

Since I have all boys and my sewing room is the only girly space in my house I painted the legs and base pink!

Finally I moved the old falling apart table out and this baby in ...

Its weird, I have more "cut" surface, but I SWEAR this takes up LESS room in the studio! Either way I'm in LOVE! Its perfect! Now if only I could magically make my room bigger and have all my fabric bolted! BAHAHA, one can dream right?

And lastly, an Elsa and Anna inspired short set ...

But what outfit is complete without accessories!

Love all these designs!!! And again thank you to my amazing accessory designer KAdorable and photographer Nikole Vargas Photographer. Couldn't have done this without these wonderful ladies, thank you!!

Do you want to build a snow man???

Yup, it's the frozen post! Haha! Little girls (and some parents!) are still in LOVE with the newest Disney Princess and Queen. While others of us just want to buy some good ear plugs!!

But winter has come to the Tiny Hiney Business! So many new exciting things from this great movie are about to be released here!

A couple weeks ago I started sharing some of the sneak peeks via Facebook and Instagram (@TinyHineyBusiness) about the new Frozen inspired collection I was working on. I loved all the excitement it caused! Here's some of those sneaks if you missed them ...

When they were FINALLY finished and perfect, I started working with my fab partner at KAdorable Bowtique to come up with some great accessories. I also branched out alittle from my normal and tried some accessory making myself!

These were all just turning out TOO cute. So I decided this shoot called for a model casting call and a professional photographer! I joined up with Nikole Vargas at Nikole Vargas Photography to take the pictures, and she did an amazing job! Great location, tons of pictures, and I love how she just let the little models do their thing. No posing or major instructions!

I'll let the pictures speak for themselves ...

I can't wait for their listing release on Monday June 23 through my Etsy store.

Even better than this gorgeous Anna and Elsa inspired outfits are these two Frozen fabrics I just got in! So many ideas ... I'm definitely thinking a skirt and a romper to start!

It's Never Goodbye ...

In the Military life we have to say "goodbye" to a lot more and a lot more often then the average person. We move, others move, family deploys, etc. Although we are fortunate to know that it isn't a final "goodbye", some where down the road we know this life will bring us back together again!

But one of the traditions when it comes to these farewells is to give a parting gift. TH was VERY honored to be apart of two this past week!

I'm not going to lie, they were a PAIN IN MY BOOTIE! The EGA alone took an hour and a half to stitch out. And that was on the highest speed! And of course everything had to me spaced correctly, sized right, and centered! Doing all of that in multiple hoops was very tricky!

It took me two different times for both sizes to get it right! First one was either off center ...

And on one I had completely finished, just need to cut away some threads and stablizer, instead I cut a hole in the flag!

Stayed up until 1 am starting over and trying to finish as much as I could. Started on the last EGA first thing the next morning, and of course ran out of thread!

Needless to say it was stressful and down to the wire! But they were finished and presented onto time to two great Marines.

Thank you so very much for letting me be a part of such an amazing tradition and special event! Good luck Marines, I know our families paths will cross again!!

A little policy update ...

Can you believe that it’s already the middle of May! Soon, school will be out and the summer fun will begin!  While there is a change in season and a slowdown in holidays and events, there is no change in the extra amount of fun activities I have planned so, I wanted to update some of the policies and schedules for TH.

First, TH has grown so much over the past year that my one-person shop is keeping me very busy.  My dilemma is I just can’t get EVERYTHING done for everyone along with working on creating new items, not to mention I have a full house to manage!  Also while living on this island is amazing, it requires additional time to order necessary stock items and products.  This affects both shipping times and costs which will ultimately result in an overall increase for my products.  I am trying to avoid increases as much as possible, but it is not always feasible for many of the items.

Secondly, while my littles aren’t old enough to be in regular school, and thankfully they will still go to daycare during the summer months, our simple schedule is about to get a little crowded. My youngest is about to start speech therapy and with all the typical summer activities starting I am going to change my working schedule.

So here are the newest updates …

* Turn-around times are between 15-35 business days, starting the day after payment is received OR the day any ordered item(s) are received IF something needs to be ordered. So please plan accordingly when thinking about your designs and deadlines.

* Business days are Monday-Friday, excluding all school and major holidays, and most vacation dates are announced at least 2 weeks in advance.

* Exceptions are possible, if you need your items sooner.  However, if I am able to accommodate your request there will be a rush fee of $8-$16 depending on your order.

I will also be establishing designated business hours. Technology is a great thing, but family time is important and I cannot allow myself to be available all the time. These hours will be my normal working hours whether I am at the computer or the sewing machine.

* TH’s business hours are from 9-6 Monday-Friday (HI time) anything received before or after business hours may not get an immediate response.

* Messages received after normal business hours will be answered at the beginning of the next business day.

Lastly, with my new schedule I’m going to be implementing a “Wait List”. I will only be taking on a set number of items each month, once the limit is reached all other inquires will be put on the wait list. As soon as an item(s) are finished, item(s) on the wait list will move up in accordance with the date the request is made.  I will make every attempt to update the orders status on a regular basis.

I realize we all have demands for our time, whether it is work, school or home life in addition to the challenge of the time difference, but I am confident and committed to make this work! If you have ANY questions please send me a message.  We can go over anything and work out the details.  I am grateful for your support of my tiny business and look forward to all the creative things coming soon!
