It's been quiet around here ... and that usually means I'm buried DEEP in projects! And it's true! Lots of custom creations and new upgrades for the studio.
Here's some of the newly created things ...
Lots of Birthdays!!
Some great inspired outfits!
Dresses for all occasions!
Everyday outfits and shirts.
When in Hawaii, make Hawaiian dresses!
It's definitely been homecoming season around here!
I love all the different styles and colors!
Now onto the new additions to the studio! I've been wanting to expand into the closet so I could have a "working" desk and a "sewing"desk next to each other. I needed one for SO many reason (the #1 reason was so I could stop running up and down the stairs every time I need a new design on my machine or a pattern printed or email answered ... ugh! SO tiring!) So the hubs, Pinterest, and I came up with a great and simple solution!
We already had the "desk top" and supports using left over wood from the shelf we made, always nice when you can do a project for free because you had left overs! And I got a free 2 drawer filing cabinet for another support. I'm planing on using the filing cabinet for my scrap booking stuff like sticker, cut outs, ext.
Before ... a now empty closet without doors.
What my room looks like when I empty my craft closet!
Hubs doing the heavy lifting!
All done and LOVING it!! I think for a make-shift desk it came out REALLY nice! And it's so much
nicer just having to turn 90 degrees when I need to do something rather
than 2 flights of stairs!
While we (really just me haha!) were moving everything, I decided to make a better photog area too!
Works great and gets the most sunlight!
Also found an amazing ironing station! Two extenders pop up on each side, one to hold the iron and one to expand the ironing surface. Plus it's got storage and wheels!
And for the pièce de ré·sis·tance of my studio ... my new cut table! I found this "beauty" on the curb side out for the trash man or an awesome person like me to breath new life into it!
And breath I did! It took over 2 hours of sanding to get it down to bare wood. And I honestly should have sanded for another hour in some spots, but wanting to finish during the weekend and the shaking feeling was killing me!
Here's a look at the 3 stages the top wen through ...
Since I have all boys and my sewing room is the only girly space in my house I painted the legs and base pink!
Finally I moved the old falling apart table out and this baby in ...
Its weird, I have more "cut" surface, but I SWEAR this takes up LESS room in the studio! Either way I'm in LOVE! Its perfect! Now if only I could magically make my room bigger and have all my fabric bolted! BAHAHA, one can dream right?
